As we heading towards the end of 2020, similar to every year NTA is planning to do some tweaks to JEE Mains 2021 exam pattern to make it more smooth and beneficial for aspirants.
Different patterns, types and exam slots are discussed by NTA members. Already, twice the exams have been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. So, Some important points regarding exams are discussed below:
JEE Mains 2021 Important points:
Yes, JEE Mains will be conducted four times in 2021.
The Union ministry of education has proposed to take JEE Mains four times in computer mode. So, as to provide flexibility to students that they can attempt one/two/three/four times.
The exam will start from February month and continue till May 2021. Among, all four attempts best will be considered for their rank.
According to NTA, this all been done to provide flexibility and reduce stress among candidates.
Minister has informed that exam pattern will remain same like previous year. There will be total 90 questions (30 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) out of they have to answer only 75 questions (25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).
In those 25 questions, 20 questions will be objective type and remaining 5 questions will be of numerical type (applicable for each of three subjects).
As per latest information mentioned on official website, registration starts from 15th December, 2020. The registration will end on 15th January, 2021.
First attempt of JEE Mains will be conducted around 20-25th February, for which the admit card will be released in First week of February, 2021.
As per now, there is no syllabus PDF available on official website. But you can check for last year JEE Mains syllabus. There is also some Differences in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced syllabus, which you should check out.
JEE Mains 2021 being conducted four times
Advantages:
- Aspirants have flexibility means they can attempt one/two/three/four times.
- Even if they misses one, they have other opportunities remaining to do well.
- Final rank calculation will be done on one of the best attempts of candidates.
- So, it is highly advisable to try to secure good percentile in early attempts and then, focus more on JEE Advanced 2021.
Disadvantages:
- The exam is going to be highly competitive due to four times exam being conducted.
- If you are getting serious in 3rd or 4th attempts of JEE Mains, then, you may get less time for JEE Advanced preparations.
- May be the toughness of subsequent papers will increase (Website's personal opinion) due to so much attempts.
